Thursday 2 July Well, they weren’t completely wrong it did come in but at 20 knots from the NW so we decided to decamp to Pancake Creek a well know safe anchorage on the mainland. they also insisted it was coming in up to 25 from the SW on the weekend. It looked like to tight reach but it ended up a solid work to windward and you should of seen us getting out of the lagoon entrance – we got hammered – white water over the deck and even up over the coach house roof into the cockpit. All it really did was reinforce the old saying “gentlemen do not go to windward”. Boy were they right ! It should have taken us five hours but it took 8 smack smack smack all the way. But Pancake Creek looks lovely hopefully we will spend a few quiet days here enjoying the place and on to Gladstone sometime next week or so. Look out RLST, here we come !!
